I enjoyed lunch with Pablo and Damián at a beautiful grill by the coast of the Douro River in Porto. The view was breathtaking, and the food was delicious, but the highlight of the experience was the great company.

We dined at a charming grill run by a contented owner. He seemed to have his life together and was happy to be running his business. As we enjoyed our delicious fish, Damian made a reference to an old radio show where callers would describe their experiences, and the anchor would evaluate if they knew “how to live.” He pointed out that the grill owner certainly knew how to live and we all agreed.

The conversation flowed as we savored our meal and the spectacular view of the river. We chatted about life, shared stories, and caught up on each other’s news. It was a pleasant and relaxed afternoon that left us all feeling rejuvenated.

The river’s beauty and the moment’s peacefulness made for an unforgettable experience. It was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the meetup we were attending, and a reminder of the simple pleasures that make life worth living.
